  David Starkey

  Director

  David, who was born in Scunthorpe, has a wealth of estate agency experience, predominantly in Lincoln, but also in Boston, London and even in the USA!! He is married with three children, likes travelling and has recently taken up cycling. Another of David’s passions is surfing, which he likes to do as regularly as possible, at various coastal points around England, even in the winter!!!

  Michael Brown MARLA MNAEA

  Director

  Michael was born in Middlesbrough, however has lived in Lincoln since he was 3 years old so has excellent knowledge of the local area. His keen interests are travelling, watching and playing football. Michael is passionate about raising money for charity and in April 2011 and 2013 took part in the Lincoln 10km road race raising over £300 for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. He was also the brains behind the Starkey&Brown skydive in the summer of 2014 which raised over £8,000.

  Lesley Joosub

  PA / HR Manager

  Lesley joined the company in January 2012 as PA to the Directors. Along with compiling, designing and writing company newsletters and other marketing material, she also takes care of payroll, accounting and the employment law side of the business, becoming HR Manager in February 2015. Born in Reading, Lesley settled in Lincoln to start her career in journalism and has spent more than 20 years working for newspapers and magazines up and down the country.

  Clare Fordyce (MInstLM) MNAEA

  Branch Manager

  Clare joined our team in December 2011 as a Senior Sales Negotiator. Early in 2013 she was promoted to Assistant Sales Manager which led to her current position of Sales Manager in June of that year. In June 2017 Clare was further promoted to Branch Manager of the Lincoln office. In May 2014 Clare was one of only five winners in the UK to take the People Award at the 2014 ESTAS. Later that year she also passed her NFOPP Level Three Award in The Sale of Residential Property.

  Frazer Cobb MNAEA

  Property Consultant

  Frazer joined Starkey&Brown as a Sales Consultant in July 2015, and made the big bold move to become a Property Consultant in March 2017. Frazer comes with an impressive sporting background and has qualifications galore in fitness training, football coaching and fitness instructing. He has also achieved a triple distinction in Sport (Performance & Excellence). With apprenticeships in Sporting Excellence and more impressively as a footballer at Lincoln City.

  Property Consultant

  David Beagley joined Starkey&Brown in June 2017 as Property Consultant. After starting his career in estate agency in 2004 David has immense experience in all areas of the business having worked for both corporate and independent estate agents, as well as for auction where he worked as a valuer and in sales dealing with property throughout the whole country. David passed the NFOPP qualification in December 2017.

  Debbie Negus

  Senior Sales Consultant

  Debbie is our Senior Sales Negotiator and takes care of all aspects of the property sales process. Debbie was born in Lincoln and has worked in estate agency since 1988, mainly in Lincoln, but also in Market Rasen and Horncastle. Debbie is married with two children and in September 2014 started her brand new role as Nannie Negus to her first grandson Oskar. When Debbie is not working she enjoys walking and socialising.

  Ben Starkey

  Sales Consultant

  Ben joined Starkey&Brown in August 2014 as a part-time Sales Consultant, becoming full-time in May 2017. He’s a bit of a fitness fanatic and enjoys playing football and running. He played football for Wragby for 5 years and now plays for a Hykeham club. Ben loves to travel and in 2015 travelled around Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.

  James Butcher

  Sales Consultant

  James Butcher joined our Lincoln office in February 2018 as Sales Consultant. Born in Milton Keynes, James started his career in estate agency as an apprentice at the age of 17 and now has many years’ experience in both sales and lettings. As well as being able to sell or rent your property, his talent doesn’t stop there. James is a drummer in local band, Carry The Crown, and has played at live venues all over the UK. The band also recently had its music played on BBC Radio 1.

  Angie Powell MNAEA

  Sales Progressor

  Angie joined the Lincoln branch of Starkey&Brown in September 2013 as Sales Progressor. Angie has immense experience in estate agency after spending 15 years previously as a Senior Sales Consultant. In her role Angie chases solicitors and surveyors, nudging them along the way so they get the process done that little bit quicker. Angie passed her NFOPP Level 3 Award in September 2014 and loves nothing more than the end result of handing over keys to an excited, and very grateful, new buyer.

  Suzi Lau

  Senior Administrator

  Susan, or ‘Suzi’ was born in Nottingham and moved to Lincoln when she was 2 years old. She takes care of all administration duties in our office, including producing brochures. Suzi started with Starkey&Brown six months after the office doors opened in 2006 and has been an estate agency administrator for over 10 years. Suzi was made Senior Administrator in January 2013. Her keen interests away from the workplace are going to the gym, music and camping trips.

  Lucy Beaumont

  Marketing Administrator

  Lucy joined Starkey&Brown in September 2016 as our Apprentice Marketing Administrator. Lucy, who lives in Skellingthorpe, has a love for art and design and is extremely creative. Her hobbies are losing herself in a good book, painting and taking her dog Smudge for long riverside walks.

  Ashleigh Bridgwater

  Assistant Lettings Manager

  Ashleigh joined the lettings department in ​August 2016 as our Senior Property Coordinator. Born in the village of Dunholme where she still lives with her husband, Ashleigh has worked in the lettings industry for two-and-a-half years. Ashleigh showed great potential at Starkey&Brown from the start and, within six weeks, she was made Assistant Lettings Manager. She enjoys walking and meals out with friends.

  Billie Boyd

  Property Coordinator

  Billie joined our lettings department in June 2015 as an apprentice, taking on the role of Lettings Assistant. In January 2018 she changed roles to Property Coordinator. Born in Liverpool she moved to Wragby when she was 11, and has settled down nicely in the village. She likes cycling with her partner and dog Rocky in the countryside, and playing football. A green belt in Judo, Billie is a dab hand with the nunchucks, however we prefer the more friendly approach at Starkey&Brown!!

  Anita Savage

  Property Coordinator

  Anita joined Starkey&Brown as Sales Consultant in August 2014 and moved over as Sales Progressor in July 2015 where she oversees the sale of both Lincoln and Scunthorpe properties, putting in the legwork with solicitors and surveyors to get the new owners into their property as soon as possible. In March 2018 Anita fancied a career change and hopped over into our lettings department where she is now Property Coordinator.

  Vicky Mapletoft

  Lettings Consultant

  Vicky joined Starkey&Brown in October 2015 as Lettings Consultant and, with more than 20 years’ customer service experience, is a complete asset to the company. Among numerous other tasks Vicky deals with tenancy applications, reference checks and ensures all properties are listed on our website and other internet portals. With previous study of interior architecture and interior design, Vicky is a bit of a dab hand at decorating.

  Ian Barton

  Accompanied Viewings Advisor

  Accompanied Viewer Ian Barton is originally from Sheffield and is married with two daughters. Before working for Starkey&Brown Ian had worked in retail and sales management both in the UK and the Middle East. He joined Starkey&Brown in 2011 and enjoys his role which involves showing people around properties, both for rentals and sales, and helping them to find their dream home.

  Trevor Adams

  Mortgage Advisor

  Trevor works alongside Gemma Brown as an independent mortgage advisor and has worked in estate agency since 1998, mainly in Lincoln but also across various locations throughout the midlands. Outside of work Trevor is ‘sport mad’ and likes to follow cricket, rugby and football with his favourite team being Charlton Athletic! He’s also quite partial to a bit of 70s music.

  Gemma Brown

  Mortgage Advisor

  Gemma works alongside Trevor Adams as an independent mortgage advisor and comes with a wealth of knowledge gained from working in the financial sector for many years. Originally from Bournemouth, Gemma moved to Lincoln after meeting her husband, and enjoys the challenge of helping home movers and first time buyers buy their dream home. In her spare time Gemma often goes back home to Bournemouth to spend time with her horses. She also enjoys skiing and snowboarding.

  Mortgage Advisor

  Mortgage advisor Mike Nicoll was born in Portsmouth and grew up in Gravesend. He has now settled in Lincoln where he has lived for the last 20 years. Mike has immense experience within the financial services industry after starting his career in 2006 at Barclays. He obtained his CeMap qualification in 2012 and loves nothing more than being able to help his clients achieve their priorities and obtain their perfect home, as well as protecting what’s important to them.

  Call & Care Clerk

  Jade joined our lettings team in August 2018 as a Call & Care Clerk. Born in Lincoln she lives with her partner and their son, and Molly the dog. Jade spent 10 years working in retail, many of those years as team leader. She fancied a career change and has always had an interest in property, so moved on over to Starkey&Brown Lettings. In her spare time she enjoys spending time at the beach and camping with her family.
