  David James FRICS

  Partner

  David is married to Kathryn and they have three children Helen, Oliver and Emily. Originally from Abergavenny, they moved to Brecon in 1982 where they started their own estate agency business, David James in 1986. In 2007 they merged with Adam Dean to form James Dean.David is passionate about his job and to make him feel old, he now works with two of his children, Oliver and Emily. A family man, he loves spending time with his Grandchildren as well as playing golf, 5 a-side football twice a week and running with the dog.

  Adam Dean FRICS

  Partner

  Adam is one of the older partners of James Dean having been in practice within the Mid Wales area for some 40 years. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, member of Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation and a Domestic Energy Assessor. He is responsible for the survey, valuation and professional side for James Dean. Married with two grown up children and living locally he enjoys his golf which involves mostly looking for lost balls.

  Gwen Bywater

  Senior Negotiator

  Gwen is a local farmer’s daughter, married to Roger and his motor bike. She has worked with David for an impressive 30 years and has officially become his work wife. She has a great sense of humour and is a huge Welsh rugby fan. The office is always quieter when she has time off, which isn’t very often although she has started to enjoy a Mediterranean cruise.

  Richard Close

  Valuer

  Richard has been working within estate agency for the last 12 years. Originally from Presteigne, he is married to Lucy who have both recently moved back to the area after living and working in Hereford. An avid supporter of Bolton Wanderers (we all have our flaws) Richard is half Dutch and wanted to be a Rockstar when he was younger! Being an estate agent is close enough.

  Oliver James

  Partner

  Oliver studied Business in Property and ‘having a good time’ at Bristol before joining the family firm. He is a keen sportsman, playing football for Brecon Corries and has enjoyed doing up two properties learning how to tile and lay flooring. Oliver enjoys socialising, has developed a taste for gin and finally married Tammy in 2016 after making her wait 10 years! He sounds just like his Dad on the phone, so be careful who you are talking to.

  Emily James FRICS

  Associate Partner

  Emily has recently qualified as a Chartered Surveyor and Valuer after also studying Business in Property at University and passing her RICS assessment. She too is a keen sportswoman with a particular passion for hockey. Unfortunately plagued by dodgy knees and six knee operations later, she now plays locally for Brecon Ladies but was previously captain of Wales at age grade, competing in Home Nations and European Cups in Madrid, Prague, Budapest and Turkey. Emily is very competitive, loves socialising, playing the piano and is always thinking about her next meal.

  Victoria Tweedy

  Lettings Manager

  Victoria joined James Dean in 2010 and has become a vital member of the team. Previously a Williams, she married Martin in 2017. She is always out and about with friends sampling the local tipples and has become queen of the cupcakes. She currently lives in Sennybridge and was an active member of YFC before she became too old (sorry Vic). Vicky is very kind and calm which is perfect when dealing with a busy lettings department.

• Gwyneth Mills

  Admin

  Gwyneth joined James Dean in 2016 looking after administration and survey department based at the Builth Wells Office. She is married to local farmer Clive and is kept busy with 2 boys and as secretary to the Llanafanfawr Show. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, gardening and wine making so is very popular within the office.

• Hywel James

  Valuer/Negotiator

  Hywel was born and raised in Abergavenny. After studying at University, then travelling the world, he decided he missed the hills of Wales and moved back 5 years ago. Hywel has a wealth of experience in sales & customer service and brings a lot of knowledge of the local area. When not in the office, he loves walking, running and cycling through the beautiful local countryside. Together with Oliver, Hywel is looking forward to opening the newest branch of James Dean in Abergavenny, and providing the town and surrounding area with a modern, vibrant estate agency.

• Stacie Matthews

  Negotiator

  Stacie joined ames Dean, in July 2018 and has never looked back. Another local farmers daughter, Stacie attended Brecon College after School where she studied Business. In her spare time she enjoys horse riding and walking Jessie the Westie. Stacie has taken to estate agency like a duck to water and is already a solid member of the team.

  Kate Hudman

  Negotiator

  Kate studied at Cardiff University where she graduated with a degree in business management. Within 6 months of graduating Kate started her career in estate agencyand has never looked back. She has recently passed her MNAEA sales qualification, and is looking forward to furthering her qualifications in estate agency. Outside of work Kate enjoys spending time with her family and friends, adding to her extensive clothes collection and trying to stay fit in the gym!
