  Richard Harris MRICS

  Director

  Richard is a Chartered Surveyor having graduated in 1998 from the University of Glamorgan with a First Class Honours Degree in Estate Management. Richard first joined Brinsons in 1999, before spending three years working for the Bermuda branch of Coldwell Banker, a leading U.S. property firm, as a valuation and property management surveyor. Richard returned in 2006 as a Director. In recent years he now owns and manages Harris & Birt.

  David Lakin MRICS

  Director

  David attended Swansea University where he studied a BA in Business Management achieving a 2:1 degree. After graduating in May 2013, he joined the team as a Residential Sales Negotiator quickly progressing to become Manager at our Cardiff office before being appointed as Residential Sales & Lettings Manager the a Director at our busy Cowbridge office. Born and brought up in the locality, David offers extensive local knowledge and property expertise to homeowners throughout the Vale of Glamorgan.

  David owned his own business in 1991 "David Birt & Co" in Cowbridge and is now delighted to merge with a well-respected partnership sharing the same values based on professionalism and client service, rather than corporate number crunching. David is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents.

  Stephanie Brookfield MNAEA

  Senior Sales Negotiator & Valuer

  Stephanie was educated in Cowbridge and worked in a number of customer facing roles prior to joining Fairfax & Co as personal assistant to Allan Fairfax. Stephanie stayed with the practice when it joined the firm and is an important member of the residential sales team administering and negotiating property sales. Stephanie has been a member of the residential team since it’s induction in 2013, and now offers market appraisal and property advice throughout the Vale of Glamorgan.

  Residential Negotiator

  Harry joined the residential team in 2020, having graduated from Cardiff Metropolitan University with BA (hons) in Business and Management. Harry previously attended Cowbridge Comprehensive School and he is member of his local Young Farmers Club, (Maendy YFC). Living locally in Pendoylan, Harry is keen to use his knowledge of the area to his advantage to help clients find their perfect property.

  Abigail Price

  Graduate Residential Surveyor

  Abbi was educated in Cowbridge attending Cowbridge Comprehensive School, before taking up a degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management from University of the West of England. Abbi has grown up locally with the Vale of Glamorgan and has family farming roots. She joined our esteemed Residential team in September 2020, and is an RICS student member and is Rent Smart Wales qualified.

  Robert David

  Graduate Rural Surveyor

  Robert was educated in Cowbridge and attended The Royal Agricultural University where he graduated in 2019 with a degree in Rural Land Management. After spending several months with a firm in Abergavenny, Robert has joined the Commercial and Rural team where he will be assisting James and Richard. Robert is from a local farming family and is currently Chairman of Maendy Young Farmers Club.

  Senior Surveyor

  Jayne is a Chartered Surveyor who joined the team in 2019 when Bute Surveyors merged with Harris & Birt. Jayne focuses on land compensation claims and has extensive experience in all areas of work covered by Bute Surveyors, including medical related property consultancy.

  Sally Jefferies MRICS

  Commercial Estate Manager

  Sally is a Chartered Surveyor who graduated from Trent Polytechnic/ Nottingham Trent University, before spending two years as a graduate Surveyor in Manchester prior to returning to her home region of South Wales as regional Property Estates Manager, client side for Royal Mail Group Ltd for 29 years. After leaving Royal Mail, Sally joined Ingram Evans Surveyors and Valuers in Cardiff as a Senior Residential Valuer for the past two years before joining Harris & Birt.

  Martine Harris MARLA MRICS

  Head of Lettings

  Martine joined our team in November 2021 as Head of Residential Lettings, having worked in the Lettings industry for 20 years and is looking to strengthen and further develop our department. Martine qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2008 after following the residential property pathway obtaining her RICS membership and awarded Fellowship to ARLA the same year. Martine is Rent Smart Wales accredited. In her spare time Martine enjoys reading and walking her dogs.

  Bethan Roberts

  Sales Negotiator

  Bethan joined our Residential Sales team in September 2021 and in November 2022 was promoted to a Sales Negotiator in our Cardiff branch. Bethan completed her education in Neath, Port Talbot before moving to Llantwit Major in 2016 and brings with her a wealth of administration and customer support experience. With her farming family connections it has helped her to gain more knowledge and understanding of the locality.

  Senior Surveyor

  Jodie attended the University of Glamorgan where she studied a degree in Property Management and Valuation. Graduating in 2003, Jodie qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2005. Having joined the team in October 2021, Jodie will now focus on commercial valuation work within the firm, specialising in valuations of medical facilities.

  Sally Bigley

  Business Development

  Sally joined the company in October 2020 having worked within the property and rural industry for over twenty years and brings with her a wealth of experience. Brought up in the Vale of Glamorgan with family farming roots, Sally joined the team on a part time basis to focus on marketing, social media, website and business development.

  Moira John

  Accounts Support Administrator

  Moira was educated at Ynysawdre Comprehensive School, which led her into employment within the retail sector before joining British Gas where she worked for 32 years in various roles, the latter 13 years working in the Finance Department as an Account Support Administrator. Moira joined our finance team in October 2022. In her free time she enjoys gardening, walking and Moira is a member of a gardening club.
